Valentina and i hang around for about 2,5 weeks. She showed me Piazza Armerina. She showed me her daily routine. So i joined a couple of english classes, she gives to 3 to 5 year old kids. The children gave me hugs, kisses, and made drawings for me. 15 drawings i carry with me in my o so heavy backpack! The children also never stopped talking, even though i couldn't understand a word.
I don't know how Valentina does it, but she has her own B&B, she is a parttime english teacher. She has lunch with her mother every day. She gives a neighbourhood boy, piano lessons ones a week (for free). She gives private english lessons at children's home. She's doing yoga twice a week and still has plenty of time to relax. Valentina drives around in a small white car, without side mirrors and she would be a perfect guide to show people around.
V and i went to Villa del Casale del Romana. The world famous mosaics. We saw the ruins of Morgantina in Aidone.
Together with her friend Carolina we drove to the castel Donnafugata, in the province of Ragusa. Sadly enough we couldn't see the massive garden, because of the weather that actually gave a redsign weather forecast. Any way we kept on going, even though there was a strong wind. So after the castel we went to Ragusa Ibla, but we got lost, so the local police escorted us into the right direction. On the way back to Piazza Armerina we stopped in Caltagirone, the place to be for ceramics. I loved Caltagirone, because they had a massive stairways full of ceramics, with every step you could see something differents.
The first weekend of March we went to see the almond blossom festival in Agrigento, but we expected more, so eventually we enjoyed the surroundings, such as: Vallei dei Templi and scala dei Turchi. In Agrigento we ate at a restaurant called; Pettilo. A fancy looking restaurant, with great staff and food cooked perfectly. With 4 people we payed 120 euro, included 5 euro of tip, 8 euro for bread. 13.50 for dessert, one massive cold and warm starter of fish, 4 maincourses and drinks. For what we got, it was cheap! I would recommend this place to everyone!
There was a day that V and i went to the woods. A young man, not older then 14 we reckon, past us on a scooter. Back and forward, back and forward and that 3 times more. At some point the guy drove to the end of the path and stopped, waiting for us to come by. I was scared, how would this be a nice greeting? The young man was flirting with V and came along for a bit. He told us that there were a lot of dogs, the direction we were going, we kinda ignored him and walked further. After half hour or so, 5 dogs suddenly began to bark, even though we didn't pass them yet. They were jumping on the cars in their yard. V didn't wanted to go further, so we walked back the same path. But now all the dogs were barking at us. I was laughing out loud, as V was scared as shit. The dogs became visible, even though we hadn't seen them before. It was like a dog concert! Also out of nowhere, there was a brown horse standing in the field. It was like the never ending story again.
Note: In Sicily men are always standing around squares, doing absolutely nothing, all day long! They do have a good pair of eyes though, because they stare at you till they drop. If eyes could kill you, i would be dead a several times now and waking up from the dead a thousand times. Haha pretty annoying though.
After 1,5 month in Sicily i forgot Dutch words, had difficulties with the English language and i could barely speak Italian. How the hell did i get around???
Thanks for reading!
See you real soon again!

Hallo Lai,
Kus, mom Thee -
