Good morning people.
I'm skipping some adventures from Australia, cause i don't have the time to write now. And because i'm already in Viet Nam now, it's more up to date.
So I left Ausralia the 16th of December and spent a week in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong was not my favorite place to be. To busy and the people were all in a hurry and definitely not smiling or friendly.
So i visited Lantau Island twice, cause it felt more being in Asia, then HK city. I've seen the big bronze buddha, walked to the top 810m high and visited Tai O village. It was beautiful up there.
In Viet Nam i arrived on the 23th, just before christmas. Christmas evening in HCMC is as busy as hell. I didn't know that christmas was such a hype. Damn busy in the streets. They were all dressed as santa Claus and there are Santa Claus driving around with presents on their back. It was funny to see. For me it was the loneliest christmas ever.
With New Year I was in Nha Trang, not that much interesting to.
I'm eating the delicious fruit, food, ice cream and drink ice coffee. I'm in Viet Nam to visit family and not much doing sightseens.
I did 2 tours: One to the Mekong Delta and the other one to Yang Bay waterfalls. There was a pigrace and I won with betting on the 4th pig. Jippie!!! I got a wooden pig, very nice. I sat on an Emu and ate crocodile and Emu meat. I went into a hotspring bad of 35 celcius and i swim in 15 celcius. I had a good day out.
Now i'm in Phan Thiet and like it here. Just arrived yesterday and this is Viet Nam!
I like it here because it's Less touristic, less busy and just the real life at the markets and smiling people. The lizards are crawling up and down the window, i'm used to it now.
This is a short version of my story. Next time, probably when i'm back home, you read the end of my time in Australia.

Leuk weer iets te lezen, al is het maar kort :) Eenzame kerst en o&n ja? Dat is niet leuk.. :( Maar toen was je toch al in Vietnam? Kon je niet bij familie terecht dan? Heb je nog veel op de planning staan? En belangrijk; wanneer kom je terug?? :D

Als je het graf van je opa en oma bezoekt, steek maar wierook aan namens mij.

Gelukkig is Phan Thiet nog niet zo toeristisch ja! Kun je lekker bijkomen van het o zo drukke en hectische Saigon! Tran is flink gegroeid he! Slaap je weer in dat ene hotel aan zee waar wij destijds ook verbleven?

Als je nou straks thuiskomt, zegt tante Jet: ooooooh wat ben je groot geworden!
Ik heb regelmatig aan jou gedacht en denk dat je nu alvast een beetje thuis bent, in Vietnam, je andere thuis. Geniet nog van je vrije tijd en tot ziens binnenkort. Ja, wij zitten op vorst te wachten, ik wil gaan schaatsen....... misschien maak je dat meteen mee.....

So great hear more about your travels!
I'm glad you found something to laugh at, even in the middle of your lonliest Christmas. It sounds like you have some great tours too... i hear that giant Buddha is amazing! Keep having fun, enjoy your family and, have a fabulous time on the rest of your travels :-)
